Adrienne Townes is a woman that once you have met, you will never forget. She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a theater brat and the daughter of a locally renowned actress, singer and television star, Joan Coursey. She naturally inherited her mother’s good looks, stage presence and articulation but her singing voice is totally her own. The Arena Players, the oldest black theater in the United States is where she started singing and acting in plays and musicals. She also grew up performing in the church.
Adrienne continued acting and singing throughout her teen years and into adulthood. In college, she minored in voice. She used her motivating spirit to form a band to showcase her voice and walk away with the title of the first Black Miss Frostburg State University. Since that time she has done numerous national commercials including an NBA commercial. She has also been in several movies such as Barry’s Gift and Sleepy Hollow High. Adrienne has been the spokesperson for Antwerpen Nissan in the Baltimore area. Adrienne has already released a Christmas CD called, “To God Be the Glory”. What’s next for Ms Townes? She is in the process of completing an R & B CD that showcases her lyrical writing abilities as she sings her own songs called, “So Natural” that will release soon.
